Values in Black

It was very interesting working with this particular piece. I drew this from a bust of Michaelangelo’s “David” with Conti Crayons. The knowledge I gained from values working in black and some colors was so wonderful and I hope to work more in pastels again.

A Stream in the Desert Painting

This painting represents my travels to Eastern Oregon as well as a spiritual representation. Going through hard times is often described as going through a desert, or a rocky, mountainous pass. In this painting I wanted the waters to have a crystal blue depth to them that led even through the difficult desert.

A collection of my beginning drawings from 2008 to 2009. I joined a drawing class taught by Verna Birch, a local watercolor artist. She has the most engaging personality and I really was blessed to get to know her and her beautiful gift of art.
