A Quiet House

It’s been a while since I’ve written. Probably because I’ve been spending more time actually living than writing. It seems to be working well for me. Life has been busy, but this Saturday I have a few moments to reflect on my activities and upcoming schedule. It’s also raining — alot — and outside activities have been curtailed for me this Merry (rainy) Month of May.

I’m starting college in the Fall 2010. Yep, I’m going to give it the best shot I can and see what happens. You know, I’ve always been someone that does things when told I can’t do them, or is challenged by people’s perspective of me; kind of like John Locke on ABC’s LOST, my inner child often responds with “Don’t tell me what I can’t do!” I like challenges.

My family is supportive — especially my husband. This is good. And why shouldn’t they be? I’ve pretty much been raising my kids and caring for them, feeding my family for 24 years. One son is serving our country overseas; one daughter is (don’t tell her I said this) completely in love with a very kind and caring young man, whom our family has welcomed into our lives; and my younger son is planning his future in the military. Both my younger kids are working on their associates degrees. Right now, life is balanced, but only because I haven’t actually planned my courses for the Fall term at college. Sigh…. I have some difficult choices to make regarding my family’s schedule, my commitment to my volunteer time at BCS and class time.

I need this quiet time to gather my thoughts about all of this.

What subjects do you want to pursue? I hope it works well for you.

    Hi Lynn 🙂

I’m starting off in General studies, but am wondering if I want to pursue business. I was told by an author that I should pursue biblical studies because of my passion for them, but my goal is to help my husband financially with a good paying career. So, I’m hoping God makes it more clear as I get a feel for my giftings. My basic schedule will be Writing, Math (which I’m very underconfident), Drawing and Tae Kwon Do, with a College Success course. That’s full time.

    Thanks for the encouragement.
